Antoine Henault
Biography
Antoine Henault is a French photographer based in Paris.
He discovered Saul Leiter’s photography as a teenager, as well as Jacques Henri Lartigue’s work on colour and paintings by Edward Hopper. A self-taught autodidact, Henault visual culture is heavily influenced by the internet, his gaze shaped by an endless consumption of images. His pictorial universe is built in direct response to the natural environment in which he grew up in, which remains his main source of inspiration to this day. His work, with a graphic and sensory sensitivity, celebrates the deep connection between beings and their environment, offering a new form of contemplation.
In 2022, the Eugène Delacroix National Museum in Paris hosted Henault’s first exhibition from his series Insolations. At the same time, his first book Insolations was published by 37.2 Editions.
